Terms of Service
Last updated: May 4, 2026
The service
Blast is the official text-message notification service of the Town of Edgewood, New Mexico. Subscribers receive SMS alerts in the categories they select: emergency alerts, road closures, public meetings, town events, and utility notices.
Eligibility and consent
By submitting your phone number and completing verification, you represent that you are at least 13 years old, that the phone number you provide is yours or that you are authorized to enroll it, and that you consent to receive automated text messages from the Town at the number provided.
Consent to receive messages is not a condition of any Town service, employment, or benefit.
Message frequency and rates
Message frequency varies based on the categories you select and on real-world conditions. Emergency-alert subscribers may receive several messages in a single day during an active incident; in quieter periods you may receive only a few messages per month. Message and data rates may apply and are determined by your wireless carrier. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Opt-out and help
You may stop receiving messages at any time:
- Reply STOP (or UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT) to any Blast message.
- Use the unsubscribe link included in messages.
For assistance, reply HELP to any Blast message or contact the Town directly at (505) 286-3838.
Supported carriers
Blast is compatible with most U.S. mobile carriers, including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, US Cellular, and most regional and MVNO carriers. The Town does not guarantee delivery on any particular carrier or device.
Privacy
Your phone number is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not sell or rent subscriber numbers.
Public-records notice
As a New Mexico municipal government, the Town may be required to disclose subscriber records in response to a valid public records request, court order, or other lawful demand.
Limitation of liability
Blast is provided on an “as is” basis. The Town does not guarantee that messages will be delivered, will be delivered in any particular timeframe, or will reach you in time to act on their content. Subscribers should not rely solely on Blast for life-safety information; in an emergency, call 911.
Changes to these terms
The Town may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the Blast service and posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
