Who we are

Blast is the official text-alert service of the Town of Edgewood, New Mexico. References to “we,” “us,” or “the Town” in this policy refer to the Town of Edgewood municipal government.

What we collect

When you sign up for Blast, we collect only:

  • Your mobile phone number, in standard E.164 format.
  • The notification categories you choose to subscribe to.
  • Timestamps of your sign-up, verification, message deliveries, and any unsubscribe action.
  • Delivery status returned by our SMS carrier (Twilio) for each message we send to you.

We do not collect your name, email address, physical address, or any other personal information through the Blast sign-up flow.

How we use your number

Your phone number is used solely to send you the text alerts you have explicitly subscribed to. Categories include emergency alerts, road closures, public meetings, town events, and utility notices.

We will never use your number for marketing unrelated to Town government, and we will never sell, rent, or share your number with third parties for their own marketing.

How we share your number

The only third party that receives your phone number is Twilio, the SMS carrier we use to deliver messages and to verify your number during sign-up. Twilio handles your number under its own privacy and data-processing terms, available at twilio.com/legal/privacy.

We may disclose subscriber information when required by law, court order, or valid public-records request consistent with applicable New Mexico statute.

How long we keep it

We retain your phone number and subscription record for as long as you are subscribed. When you unsubscribe (by replying STOP or via this site), we mark your subscription as ended and stop all messages immediately. We may keep an unsubscribed record for audit and compliance purposes for up to two years.

Your choices

  • Reply STOP to any Blast text to unsubscribe from all alerts.
